The Best Pet-Friendly Hotels in Charleston, SC
1. Barksdale House Inn
Built in 1778, Barksdale House Inn is a pet-friendly bed and breakfast in Charleston, SC that provides 14 enchanting guest rooms to choose from. It is also located right in the heart of historic Downtown Charleston, so you and your four-legged friend will never be far from all of the area’s top dining, shopping, entertainment, and more.
Each of their rooms is pet-friendly and provide a wide variety of homey amenities including a private bathroom, complimentary breakfast, wireless internet, and more.
In the afternoons, be sure to join the innkeepers for a glass of refreshing iced tea and delicious appetizers!
Pet Policy: $20 per night per pet plus tax pet fee.
2. John Rutledge House Inn
As a Travel + Leisure “World’s Best” nominee, you can be assured that a stay at the John Rutledge House Inn will be one for the books!
True to its name, the inn was once the home of John Rutledge, a signer of the United States Constitution. Today, the inn pays homage its rich history by combining many of the home’s original features with incredible amenities and warm Southern hospitality.
There are a limited number of pet-friendly rooms available at the John Rutledge House Inn, but your pooches are sure to love the elegantly-designed accommodations just as much as you do.
After taking a stroll through Downtown Charleston, you and your dogs can enjoy lounging in the inn’s pet-friendly courtyard before returning to your room for some well-deserved rest.

3. Wentworth Mansion
The Wentworth Mansion is a true Charleston original! The historic mansion retains most of its 19th-century charm so every guest feels as if they’ve been transported back to the 1860s.
In addition to the Victorian-esque accommodations, the inn provides a full Southern breakfast and one of the top dining experiences in Charleston at their on-site restaurant, Circa 1886.
Dogs are permitted at the Wentworth Mansion in select rooms, so it’s a good idea to make your reservation ahead of time to ensure you score one of their pet-friendly accommodations.

4. NotSo Hostel
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option or a fun way to meet fellow travelers, then NotSo Hostel in Charleston is the way to go. This unique hostel experience gives visitors the opportunity to lodge within 19th-century Charleston homes.
Plus, not only is the hostel dog-friendly, but it’s also eco-friendly!
Dogs are permitted to stay with you in private guest rooms at either the Spring Street or Cannon Street location. Both hostels are within walking distance of downtown’s best attractions and feature plenty of amenities including a shared kitchen, free parking, and use of laundry facilities.
Pet Policy: An additional $10 pet fee is required.
5. Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston

Pet Policy: Small to medium-sized dogs accepted with a $200 fee.
8. Andell Inn
Located on the posh Kiawah Island in Charleston, the Andell Inn provides pet-friendly villa-style rooms within Freshfields Village.
